Best temps for larger and ales Empty Best temps for larger and ales

Post  Thirsty Mick Mon Jul 28, 2014 5:15 am

Hi Guys . Put together my first batches on Friday. My larger is sitting on 14 degrees during the day and dropping to 12 over night, with no added heat. What temp range should I be aiming for?
My ale dropped the second night from 18 down to 12 . I immediately put the heat pad on and also put a heat cord on about half way up the fermenter. With just the pad on over night, my temp still drops to 16. Is this too low for the ale and what temp range should I be aiming for?
